Traveling from Aqaba city to Wadi Rum village

Wadi Rum village and the Aqaba city center are approximately 45 miles far away from each other. There are two options available to travel from Aqaba city to Wadi Rum Village which is either by car or bus. Jett bus in Aqaba city departs at 8 am and arrives at Wadi Rum village at 9:30 pm. Except for Friday the bus runs daily and costs 15 JOD per person. On the other hand, traveling by car takes 1 hour from Aqaba City.

Traveling from Wadi Araba Border to Wadi Rum village

Unfortunately, there are no bus services. You can only book a taxi from Wadi Araba Border to Wadi Rum village. The costs 37 JOD per person and the total travel time is 1 hour.

Traveling from Amman to Wadi Rum village

if you are traveling by bus, it’s not a direct journey. First, the Jett bus departure from Amman to Wadi Musa takes approximately 3 hours and costs 10 JOD per person. After that, you reach Petra (Wadi Musa), from where you take the Rum bus, which heads directly to Wadi Rum village. Alternatively, you can also take the direct JETT bus which travels from Amman to Aqaba and takes 4 hours of travel time. After reaching Aqaba, you can take a direct taxi to reach Wadi Rum. On the other hand, it takes approximately 4-5 hours to reach by car.

Traveling from Amman to Wadi Rum village

if you are traveling by bus, it’s not a direct journey. First, the Jett bus departure from Amman to Wadi Musa takes approximately 3 hours and costs 10 JOD per person. After that, you reach Petra (Wadi Musa), from where you take the Rum bus, which heads directly to Wadi Rum village. Alternatively, you can also take the direct JETT bus which travels from Amman to Aqaba and takes 4 hours of travel time. After reaching Aqaba, you can take a direct taxi to reach Wadi Rum. On the other hand, it takes approximately 4-5 hours to reach by car.

Traveling by bus

The minibus departs at 6.30 am and arrives at 8.30 am. It is a door-to-door bus service and costs 7 JD. Alternatively, traveling by car takes 1 hour 45 minutes of total travel time and costs 40 JD.

Accommodation

BEDOUIN VILLAGE CAMP

It is a traditional Bedouin camp with modern facilities provided. The interior of this camp is very simple but all the essential modern necessities of life are available like Wi-Fi. Heaters are provided in winter. This camp is close to restaurants and shops. Moreover, they are also good for early morning buses that depart from the Rest House. The total cost of this camp is 10 JD per person.

WADI RUM ORYX HOSTEL

This Hotel was made in the year 2021 and is famous for luxury Bedouin tents. This hotel has en-suites, a/c & heaters in winter. They have the facility of a Self-catering kitchen & WIFI. The hotel is located on the quiet side of the village border and is best for people who are seeking relaxation and a peaceful atmosphere during their stay.  The cost is Singles is 20JD and for doubles, it is 10JD per person.

SUNRISE GUESTHOUSE

This guest house is the oldest as well as the cheapest in the village. They have Simple rooms with communal bathrooms and a self-catering kitchen In addition, heaters are provided in winter. The total cost of this guest is 5JD per person without a kitchen and if you want a kitchen you need 7 JD.

WADI RUM STARS HOSTEL

This hotel opened its doors to visitors in 2022 and it is located on the northern fringes of the village. This hotel has all the modern luxury facilities like Comfortable rooms with en-suites, a/c & heaters in winter & WIFI.

On the other hand, in winter the temperatures are between 10°C to 20°C and in spring, the temperature is 20°C to 30°C. Rainfall is minimal, generally in winter.
