The King’s Highway
It is a 280-kilometre highway and is known for its exceptional landscapes, with mountains, valleys, and canyons. It is the slowest option and requires five hours of driving. The King’s Highway ranged from Madaba to Petra and covers many sightseeing spots on the way. This is the best option for travelers who are fond of history and nature. A journey through the Kings Highway may take a full day or more as there is no direct transport; buses are needed to be changed.
There is a minivan that departs from Amman’s Southern bus station to Kerak. In Kerak, there is bus that departs at 1 PM and goes to Tafilah. From Tafilah’s south transport station, there are buses to Ma’an that are really a reroute from the Kings Highway. From Ma’an, you can take a taxi or to Wadi Musa. From Wadi Mosa, the bus will take you to Petra.

These are minibuses and are less comfortable as compared to JETT buses. The cheapest option is to take a minivan from Amman’s southern bus station, the Wihdat bus station, or the Mujama Janobi station. The ticket cost is 5 JD.
Travelling by car

There are many car rental companies at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman. Travelling from Amman to Petra by car takes three hours. When to travel
